Providence Education is an Irish organisation that supports education projects in North East India. We provide technical and financial support to Providence School in Shillong and to their alumni. We first travelled to Shillong in 2005 and have been returning regularly since. We’ve gotten involved in a number of educational projects and are now aiming to support our students after they finish their studies. We’re always looking for new people to get involved!
Quality Education
Providence offers a quality education to almost 300 students who cannot afford to attend regular schools. The students follow a dual academic / practical curriculum to equip them with life skills.
Daily Meals
The school feeds each of the students every day. We have recently increased the amount of protein in the students’ diet.
Scholarships
We provide scholarships to students who wish to continue their studies beyond secondary school. Many of our students are now studying at 3rd level institutions.
